A SearchAgent is a free alert tool that notifies you when new homes matching your search preferences are added to RentHero.
You can use a SearchAgent to:
- receive property alerts by email
- save time searching manually every day
- follow different rental preferences at the same time
- stay updated when new listings become available
If you are trying to find a home to rent faster, creating a SearchAgent can help you keep track of relevant listings automatically.
How to create a SearchAgent
You can create a SearchAgent directly from the RentHero homepage.
- Go to the homepage.
- Click New property alert at the top of the page.
- Choose the filters that match your housing criteria, such as location, size, or price.
- Save your alert.
Once your SearchAgent is active, you will receive email notifications when new homes matching your criteria become available.
How to edit a SearchAgent
If you already have an account, you can edit your SearchAgent at any time from your profile.
- Go to your profile.
- Open the SearchAgent section.
- Find the SearchAgent you want to update.
- Click Edit.
- Change your filters or preferences.
- Save your changes.
This allows you to adjust your alerts if your housing preferences change.
How to delete a SearchAgent
You can also delete a SearchAgent from your profile if you no longer want to receive alerts.
- Go to your profile.
- Open the SearchAgent section.
- Find the SearchAgent you want to remove.
- Click Delete.
Once deleted, you will stop receiving alerts for that SearchAgent.
Can I create more than one SearchAgent?
Yes, you can create multiple SearchAgents.
This is useful if you want to track different:
- cities or areas
- price ranges
- property sizes
- rental preferences
For example, you can create one SearchAgent for a studio flat in one area and another for a larger home in a different location.
Not receiving SearchAgent emails?
If your SearchAgent is active but you are not receiving alerts, check the following:
- your email address is correct
- the alert has been saved successfully
- the emails are not going to your spam or junk folder
- there are new listings that match your selected criteria
You can also review your SearchAgent settings in your profile and update them if needed.
